What is a Jewish Wedding?

The Jewish wedding is undoubtedly one of the most joyous events in Jewish tradition. It is an opportunity for the young couple to get married under the chuppah, in the synagogue, outside or in a private room. An emotional religious ceremony in which the couple is blessed and united according to Jewish law.

Jewish weddings are filled with rituals and Jewish traditions that vary depending on the origins of the bride and groom: Ashkenazi or Sephardic, Orthodox, Hasidic… The most symbolic wedding rituals today are the ketubah (marriage contract), the chuppah, the Sheva Brakhot and the breaking of the glass by the newlywed.

The opportunity to fill the young couple with original gifts: taliths, bags for tefilin and taliths… Original ideas to be found on the LevJudaïca website.
