Enhance your Shabbat and holiday table
The Kiddush is a Jewish blessing and prayer recited over a cup of wine immediately before a meal on the eve of Shabbat or a Jewish holiday. This prayer marks the sanctity of the day that has just begun. The chanting, or recitation, usually performed by the head of the family, may involve several or all members of the family, depending on custom; each then drinks wine from the kiddush cup, which was held in the right hand during the blessing. In the Ashkenazi (German) tradition, two covered loaves (halloth) on the table symbolize the double portion of manna gathered before Shabbat by the Israelites during their years of wandering in the desert. If no wine is available, bread can be used as a substitute.
This kiddush glass will be ideal for this important Jewish prayer.
A great gift idea for a wedding, engagement, sheva brakhot or any other holiday in the Jewish calendar.
