The importance of the Tree of Life in Kabbalah
The Tree of Life is a Kabbalistic vision of consciousness, a geometric symbol of the complete universe, composed of ten spheres, called the Sephiroth, and 22 paths of connection. It is a schematic representation of the thirty-two paths of wisdom, which refer to the number of times the name of G-d was found in Genesis.
Kabbalists understood that the mysteries of life could not be proven, and for this reason they developed, through the combination of many elements of religion and mathematics, the Kabbalistic paths that allow one to know oneself and to discover the laws and forces of the universe.
The word Kabbalah means « to receive » and the heart of this teaching is that the spiritual and physical worlds are not isolated from each other, but closely linked.
The Tree of Life is at the heart of Kabbalah. Jewish thinkers say that it provides us with a map of the conscious and unconscious, of the world around us and of the many hidden worlds that lie above and below our everyday consciousness. It thus symbolizes growth, development and progress.
By meditating on the individual spheres, the sephiroth, the Kabbalist can gain a higher understanding of himself.
An ideal Judaica gift for a spouse, loved one or anyone you care about. Whether it’s your 1st, 5th or 20th wedding anniversary, Hanukkah, Bar-mitzvah, bat-mitzvah, or birthday, give them something different
